A fantastic month of music making and more to come

It was a wonderful month this past October as I celebrated the release of my newest album, performed with Kyle Flens at Fulton Street Collective (Flannau Duo), had 2 weeks with Ensemble Dal Niente, playing with them at the Bowling Green State University New Music Festival AND doing the US premiere of Simon Steen-Anderson’s “Black Box Music” at the Epiphany Center for the Arts in Chicago, and finishing the month up with performing the world premiere of composer Erich Barganier’s “Grotesquerie #1” for solo piano at the Green Mill that he wrote for me.

My heart is full and I am so thankful for all these opportunities. Moving forward into the month of November, I’m excited to share some more performances and upcoming events with you all!

On Nov. 4, I will be performing at Access Contemporary Music a solo set of piano music for their cafe series at 5 pm.

On Nov. 5, I will be performing my most recent album at the Ravenswood Fellowship United Methodist Church at 12:30 pm.

On Nov. 11 at 7:30 pm, the Chicago Composers Orchestra is doing its first concert of the season featuring the music of Molly Jones, Daron Hagen, and DJ Sparr. It will be at the St. James Cathedral in downtown Chicago! I will be running the pre-concert talk at 6:45 to discuss the works with the composers, and there will be a special announcement as well!

On Nov. 25, I will be traveling to Mexico City to perform with my good friend Craig Davis Pinson.

Leading shortly into the month of December, I am looking forward to giving a lecture at Holy Name Cathedral titled “Too Many Notes: Reflections on Modern Contemporary Music” as part of the Salon Series run by James Keene. It will happen on Dec. 2, 2-4 p.m.!

More info will be posted in the coming weeks, but I hope to see you all and thank you for the support!
